ARUCC Appoints Dr. Amy Dambrowitz as Inaugural Executive Director

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 18, 2025

Calgary, AB – June 18, 2025 – The Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Amy Dambrowitz as its inaugural Executive Director. This milestone marks an exciting evolution for ARUCC as the association strengthens its leadership to better serve registrarial professionals and post-secondary institutions across Canada.

With more than two decades of experience in higher education administration, enrolment management, and academic governance, Dr. Dambrowitz has held increasingly senior roles at several institutions across two provinces and one state. Most recently, she has served as the University Registrar of the University of Calgary. Her work at the University of Calgary has been centred on teambuilding to foster student-centered service delivery, optimizing registrarial systems and operations, and advancing data-driven decision-making.

Amy has worked collaboratively with colleagues to lead change in institutional practices of equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous engagement, spearheading initiatives that enhance accessibility and institutional effectiveness. Her leadership in strategic planning and institutional transformation has taken goals from concept to delivery, underscoring her dedication to student success and registrarial excellence.

Amy shares, “I am very excited to collaborate with the members of our community across the country to realize the bold, far-reaching vision we have collectively set for ARUCC: an organization that is a global leader in registrarial practices.”

A Vision for the Future

As part of the interview process, Amy presented a comprehensive vision for her tenure as Executive Director, outlining key priorities aligned with ARUCC’s strategic pillars of Development, Community, and Advocacy. Her plan focuses on:

  • Strengthening communications and member engagement, while leveraging revamped and innovative tools that will support community collaboration and connection
  • Deepening advocacy initiatives, and engaging priority partners to amplify ARUCC’s influence in national post-secondary policy discussions

“As Canada’s post-secondary landscape undergoes significant change, ARUCC remains committed to supporting registrarial professionals with leadership, collaboration, and innovation,” said Dr. Darran A. Fernandez, Chair of the ARUCC Board of Directors. “Amy brings exceptional expertise and a bold vision to this new role, ensuring ARUCC’s continued growth and influence.”
